Sweepstake Tips

Welcome to the Lucky Loot Sweepstakes website where you can find the latest online sweepstakes, giveaways, contests and instant win games, all free to enter. Entering sweepstakes and contests can be a really rewarding hobby. This article will give you tips to show you how you can beat the odds to win frequently while avoiding some common scams.

Dont Give Up
The best sweepstakes tip I've ever heard is to not give up too quickly. To win, you need patience. Keep in mind that winning your first prize can take months. Don't give up keep entering until you win.

Use a Separate Sweepstakes Email

Setting up an email to use just for sweepstake entries is a great help in recognizing wins, avoiding spam mails, and detecting scams. Using a separate email address exclusively for sweepstakes entries at a free site, such as Gmail.com,Yahoo.com or Hotmail.com.

Get a Form Filler
Getting a form filler is  a huge time saver. Every time you enter a contest you need to type your name, address, phone number and other information about yourself. With a form filling program, you simply click a button on your web browser toolbar and the forms are completed for you automatically. Many auto fill programs exist such as the Google free toolbar at toolbar.google.comInternet Explorer also has an "autofill" option.

Daily or One Entry Sweepstakes?

Which is better?  The answer depends on your sweeping habits.
If your time is short, focus on entering sweepstakes that only allow one entry per person - no one will have better odds than you do, and you can enter a bunch of these sweepstakes in a limited amount of time. If you have more time, enter daily sweepstakes. Most people don't enter every single day; if you do, your odds will be higher. Think about it for a second. If you and I both enter a draw that allows only a single entry per person, we both have an equal chance of winning. But if you enter a sweepstakes that allows daily entry and you enter it only once while I enter it every day for a month, I'll win 30 times as often as you.
Avoiding Scams
A legitimate sweepstakes should have a sponsor, an end date in the not to distant future and should not require you to make a purchase in order to enter. If the sponsor of a contest is unclear, it's likely a scam.  You should never be asked to pay for anything, in order to win a contest. Some con artists use the lure of a sweepstakes to convince consumers to send in money to claim a “prize” they’ve supposedly won. They tell consumers that the only thing that separates them from their “winnings” is a fee to cover the taxes or service charges. You should never be asked for credit information or your banking information if you are a winner. You should only be asked for contact information and in Canada, most sweepstake winners are required to answer a skill testing question.
